Looks interesting:
"SmoothLife is a generalization of Conway's Game of Life I discovered while playing around with GPU programming."
"Conway's Game of Life is generalized to a continuous domain. OpenGL and GLSL shaders are used for real-time 2D and 3D graphics. Time stepping is done via a real to complex FFT based convolution operation."

with smooth time-stepping.

I should mention that their "desire to see a glider that can go in any direction" (from the Vimeo page) is already achieved in the Gray-Scott system, as discovered by Robert Munafo.

We hope to include some nice demonstrations of this in the next release of Ready.
