Well this is fun. I'm working with the artist that worked on the motion capture for this recent Nokia advert. I remember being impressed with it when it was on TV last year.

Apparently to do this sort of thing they use several cameras filming from different angles, and markers stuck on the skin (that are later photoshopped out) and lots of 3d modelling.
