Very beautiful instruction. But I am a bit against saying that students knew everything before. The real wisdom comes from the sequence of those questions. The situation is kind of similar to the fact that all mathematicians know all axioms but only some can reach brilliant theorems because they came up with the "right" order of how to apply those axioms.
