Oh wow, Ed Fredkin (or someone posing as him) has posted on the conwaylife.com forums, asking if we've looked at his Salt CA. Now 79 years old, he was rumoured to be the inspiration for Professor Falken in the film War Games. I even put a photo of him (at least I think it's a photo of him) into a Golly pattern, to demonstrate replication. Time to look at Salt CA I think!
