The theory goes that you can't die in the multiverse because there is always a subset of increasingly bizarre universes where you survive.

Which means that I must apologise to those versions of you that are trapped here, because this universe is getting very weird.

Somewhere in your brain is a configuration of energy and matter that corresponds to the thought, "You can't die in the multiverse." Presumably, an organic brain is not the simplest lattice that can hold this configuration. Maybe it could even occur (for very brief periods) in an arrangement of gas molecules. Indeed, maybe the whole of existence is just a basketball sized universe of hot gas that periodically (eventually, inevitably) passes through all such states, and the apparent solidity and temporal continuity of your entire life is just an illusory effect of this random, gaseous zoetrope.
