I used a 'alpha' version of a Ready-for-Houdini plugin that I'm writing in order to run and save the RD simulation (as voxels in bgeo files). I then used some sops to make a surface out of the voxels, shucked in a shiny chader, a nice foresty hdri and stuck it through mantra (pbr) and cops (gamma, etc) to make it look as it currently does. Probably don't bother with HD resolution, filtering down in size may even help.
