I really hope they make a rhombic docahedron version of this, because then the reflections will actually line up. (I think?) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhombic_dodecahedral_honeycomb A cube would work too but would be a bit dull. What other shapes would work? https://twitter.com/tweetsauce/status/1022911077984755713

Euclidean space, that is. The dodecahedron itself tesselates hyperbolic space, e.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Order-4_dodecahedral_honeycomb (I wonder if we can make that using curved mirrors?)

If the mirrors in the polyhedron bulged inwards slightly, would it look like hyperbolic space inside?

Yes, I see it now, thanks. It has an intriguingly similar appearance - to explore the idea in 2D I made this povray image of a square room with mirrored cylindrical walls bulging inwards slightly. The actual floor is visible at the bottom, everything else is reflections.

And just for completeness, a cube with inward-bulging mirrored spherical faces:
Thu Oct 11 16:01:26 +0000 2018
If you stand inside the cubical space made by the intersection of six mirrored spheres it feels a little bit like being in hyperbolic space. As @apgox points out it isn’t the same but it makes pretty images none the less.
Bonus image: the 2D version, with 4 cylindrical walls.

Yes, great paper. I used POV-Ray, with very simple textures (like pigment { color Red } finish { reflection 0.7 } ). The organic feel is just a happy accident. I’ve just noticed the 3 orthogonal color rings at infinity. I can share the files if anyone wants them.
